What are thermal imaging (measurement) devices and thermal imaging cameras?

Thermal imaging (measurement) devices and thermal imaging cameras are a type of radiation thermometer.

  • Spot radiation thermometer
    It measures at spots. It is mainly used on production lines and is suitable for measurements where temperature accuracy and repeatability are important.
  • Radiation thermometer
    This is a line (one-dimensional scanning type) measurement. It is suitable for measuring temperature patterns in the width direction of moving objects on production lines.
  • Thermal imaging device/thermal imaging camera
    Measurement is performed using images (2D). It has a variety of applications, including line monitoring and inspection, equipment diagnosis, building diagnosis, and research.

Chino offers two types of equipment: thermal imaging devices and thermal imaging cameras (thermography cameras).

  • Thermal imaging device
    It is used as a fixed system at the manufacturing site, where it monitors the process, processes the image results, and may feed them feedback into the process.
    It is also possible to connect to a PLC or PC to record and process data.
  • Thermal imaging camera (thermography camera)
    It is mainly used as a portable device and can be used for a wide range of purposes, such as regular patrols, checking electrical panels for electrical leaks, and checking the heat distribution in a room.
    The data can be saved on an SD card or other device and can be viewed and analyzing using dedicated software.
