The CPA-L3 series is a fixed-type thermal image measurement uses a uncooled solid-state image sensor (320 x 240 pixel) and is configuration of a camera and a controller. The camera has a temperature measurement range of -20°C to 500°C (up to 2000°C with option) at a measurement wavelength of 8 to 14 μm, is small and lightweight, and has excellent dust proof and splash-proof resistance. Image data from the camera is sent to the controller via high-speed digital communication at 60 frames per second. In addition to temperature measurement processing such as spot, line, and area, the controller has image processing functions such as binarization and particle analyzing, and display measurement values/judgment results on the main body's color LCD monitor and can output via LAN and analog and digital signals.

- The camera detecting element is a two-dimensional uncooled type, allowing for stable continuous use.
- Camera lenses are available from telephoto to wide-angle to suit a variety of uses.
- The camera is dust proof splash-proof structure and a protective camera case is also available.
- All operation can be performed from the controller and up to four cameras are supported.
- The camera and controller are connected via a dedicated noise-resistant communication cable with a maximum length of 100m.
Maximum 300m when using a relay hub. Maximum 2km when using fiber optics.
- The controller is diskless and does not require a shutdown operation. It is equipped with a self-diagnostic output function.

Extensive measurement and inspection functions
- The controller comes with a color LCD monitor with touch keys. In addition to display thermal images, it also display various measurement results, judgment results, and computation results in real time.
- In addition to the temperature measurement function for spots, lines, and areas set in an image, it also has image processing functions such as binarization. Using these measurement values, judgment power numerical computation, and logical computation functions, more advanced measurement and inspection systems can be easily built into the controller without software.
- Up to 100 images can be saved in the controller's internal memory (overwriteable), and can be searched and played replay. Saved images can be transferred to a USB memory for further storage.
System expandability
- Measurement start and product switching are possible via contact input/LAN. Easy synchronization with production lines.
- The controller is equipped with Ethernet, allowing it to send measurement data to a high-order PC or PLC, and also allows image data write to a shared drive on high-order PC.
- By connecting an external I/O unit, measurement values and judgment results can be continuously output externally, making it easy to set up an automatic measurement and inspection system.
- Each output item can be freely assigned/configured using the controller. No software required.
