Thyristor Regulators

A thyristor regulator is an electrical switch that turns on and off an AC power supply at one of the operation ends.
The temperature of the electric furnace is control by receiving a signal from the "control part" such as a controller and control the electric power.
Compared with mechanical switches, it has the features of high-speed switching, which enables precise temperature control, small noise during operation, and long service life due to the absence of contact, and is widely used in the industrial temperature control field.

feedback (FB) method of thyristor regulator

In control system, feedback (FB) is the main method of control to reach a set value (target). About FB
When selecting a thyristor regulator, it is necessary to designate feedback according to resistance temperature characteristic of load (heater).

Phase control Method

Strong Points:
Power control is continuous. You can select feedback method (or the non-feedback method) that matches characteristic of load (heater).
Cons:
The output waveform contains harmonic constituent, which causes power distortion and harmonic noise to be emitted to the outside.

Frequency division control method

Strong Points:
Because of the zero-cross switching, the output waveform does not contain harmonics.
Cons:
Since the output operates in an on-off manner, a flickering phenomenon known as lighting flickering or a temporary drop in power supply voltage may occur.
Heater material must be Nichrome. Transformer primary control is not possible.
