Standard Thermocouple C850

The C850 is a standard thermocouple made of high-purity gold (positive leg) and platinum (negative leg), which was commercialized through joint research with Professor Goto of the Tamagawa University Faculty of Engineering.
Compared to conventional thermocouples using precious metal thermocouples (R, S, B) specified in the JIS, the electromotive force drift when exposed to high temperatures is small, and the uncertainty due to inhomogeneity is also significantly smaller.

More powerful than conventional thermocouples

Long-term stability is 15mK (typical) at 960℃ for 500hr. Therefore, it is lower cost than platinum resistance thermometers and allows for high accuracy standard control than conventional thermocouples.
The electromotive force value is specified in ASTM Vol.14.03 E1751.
The electromotive force drift when exposed to high temperatures is small.
Uncertainty due to inhomogeneity is also significantly reduced.
