Measurement, control ・Monitoring and Systems CHINO Corporation (headquartered in Itabashi-ku, Tokyo; Mikio Toyoda, President) released a high emissivity plane blackbody furnace, IR-R40, on Wednesday, March 29.
Chino, in collaboration with the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), a national research development corporation, has development developed a flat blackbody device that serves as a precise (precise and accurate) reference for measuring temperature for thermal cameras and radiation thermometer used for non-contact temperature inspection and other applications. The high emissivity flat blackbody furnace "IR-R40" is a flat blackbody device that uses high emissivity blackbody material with emissivity as close to 1 as possible. In conventional flat blackbody devices, the emissivity of the blackbody material used is as low as 0.96 to 0.98, so this low value is an error factor for the radiation temperature standard, and the background infrared radiation reflected from the blackbody surface affects the temperature measurement. However, AIST has devised development a black resin surface structure, and this blackbody has an extremely high emissivity and reflects almost no background infrared rays, thus realizing an almost ideal radiation temperature standard.
In recent years, thermal imaging cameras and radiation thermometer are being used for screening in commercial facilities, but in order to get an accurate temperature, a "calibration" is required to check the difference between the temperature reference value and the display of the thermometer being used. By using the flat blackbody furnace as a reference, the reliability of the measured temperature can be improved.
The small size and light weight of the thermometer make it easy to carry and install, allowing for easy calibration of the thermometer in the field. We will promote sales of this product so that it can be used for accurate temperature measurement in large commercial facilities, hospitals, airports/railways, schools, government offices, factories, etc.
