What is control?

Control is a technology that automatically adjusts conditions such as temperature and pressure to maintain them at the desired state.

Think of bath water. On a cold winter's day, the water you've heated to the perfect temperature will cool down over time.
So we adjust the temperature by adding hot water or reheating the water every time the temperature drops.
This is "manual temperature control."

So what about automatic?
Modern hot water systems constantly measure the water temperature and automatically adjust it if it detects a difference from the set temperature.
This is an example of "automatic temperature control."

In factories and laboratories, temperature differences of just 1°C lasting for a few seconds can have a detrimental effect on products.
For this reason, advanced control technology is required to efficiently reach the desired temperature as quickly as possible and maintain it as long as possible.

We at Chino continue to meet the demanding solutions of the industry by providing high accuracy temperature control technology to fields that require precise temperature control, such as industrial products and pharmaceutical manufacturing sites.

Chino's Temperature Control control

Pursuing energy savings and high efficiency—CHINO's innovative control technology

At CHINO, we are working on more efficient and environmentally friendly control technologies.
There are three main areas of focus:
1. Suppression of over
2. Quick arrival at set temperature
3. Energy saving
We found clues to solving these issues in an unexpected place.
That is the wisdom of nature.

Do plants generate heat? Learning temperature control from nature's mechanisms

制御とは_1

Do you know the plant called "Zazensou"?
The skunk cabbage is a perennial plant of the Araceae family that displays amazing abilities when surviving harsh winters and blooming in early spring.
It generates heat and melts the surrounding snow.

The skunk cabbage releases energy from its body little by little to maintain the surrounding temperature at around 20°C.
This ingenious temperature control mechanism gave us a great hint.

The Birth of Z control

Through joint research with Iwate University, Chino has development a new control technology called "Z control" that applies the heat generation mechanism of skunk cabbage.
This technology is control in industry to stabilise temperature and is used to control temperature on factory production lines and in freezers, etc.

Incorporating Z control for improved control

制御とは_2

Currently, Z control is incorporated into Chino products and is actually used in a variety of industrial fields.
This technology has improved the performance of the controller.
In particular, in industries where temperature control is important, it is now possible to suppress over which was difficult to do with conventional technology, improving product yields.

As a result, Z control also leads to energy savings and contributes to decarbonization.
