emissivity measurement method

emissivity and Reflectance Correction (Model)

Thermocouple Use

There is also a method for matching emissivity.

- Thermocouple standard *-

* When using contact thermometers such as thermocouples and resistance thermometer

Vinyl tape used

Vinyl tape emissivity 0.95 * The degree and subject
Adjust it based on the temperature of the applied tape.

From the FLIR manual

1. Identifying the reflection source ①2. Identifying the reflection source ②

3. Measurement of apparent temperature of reflected source A
(emissivity = 1, distance = 0)
3. Measurement of apparent temperature of reflected source B
(emissivity = 1, distance = 0)
4. Set the reflected apparent temperature as the reflected source temperature and attach vinyl tape near the measurement point.
  • Heat the object to a temperature at least 20°C higher than the surrounding area (evenly throughout).
  • Set the SP1 in line with the vinyl tape and set its emissivity to 0.97 * as the reference temperature.
  • Place SP2 on the surface of a nearby object and adjust its emissivity to find the value where SP2 temperature = SP1 temperature, and when they match, that is the desired emissivity.
*We used emissivity of 0.95 and 0.97, and object temperatures of 30 and 20°C, but please do not pay attention to these differences. Since they are all "degrees," you can also use values in the middle such as 0.96 and 25°C.
