The insertion length of the sensor is key to minimizing temperature errors when measuring the internal temperature of a solid, the temperature in a liquid, or the temperature of a gas.
As a guideline, it is said that for thermocouples it should be 15 to 20 times the outer diameter of the protective tube, and for resistance it should be 20 to 30 times or more.
When using strong acids, strong alkalis, or other liquids, it is necessary to select a protective tube suitable for the measurement.
