Can I use the compensation wire for one thermocouple with the compensation wire for another thermocouple? For example, can I use the compensation wire for B thermocouple with R thermocouple?

No. Because the metals used in the compensation conductors are different, there will be errors in the measurements.

However, the compensation conductors for R and S thermocouples can be used interchangeably.
