Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Is there a way to check radiation thermometer?
Add finely crushed ice and water (preferably pure water) to a thermos or other container with good thermal insulation properties. After making sure that the ice is not melting (stable state), measure the surface temperature of the ice and water. (Be careful not to cause any field of lack of view.) At this time, it is necessary to set emissivity of radiation thermometer to 1.0. The surface temperature of the ice and water in this state will be approximately 0°C, so a simple scale check can be made by checking indicated value on radiation thermometer. (However, please check the reading accuracy of radiation thermometer before proceeding.)
(You need to put crushed ice in a container and dig a groove in it to increase the apparent emissivity.)
