How far from the tip is the element of the sheathed resistance thermometer?
The position of the element is about 15 mm from the tip. The length of the element is also about 15 mm, so please understand that the element is about 30 mm from the tip. However, in order to measure the correct temperature, resistance thermometer needs to be inserted about 20 to 30 times longer than the protection. The correct temperature cannot be measured by simply pressing only the tip against the object.
